Summary: Chief Technical Advisor (2005-), UNDP - Hungarian Government, Cserehat Programme; Based on the lessons learned from the development schemes of other countries, the Cserehát programme incorporates a number of principles that together amount to a new way to alleviate poverty and social exclusion. The Cserehát Programme is thus intended to serve as a model for initiatives in other parts of Hungary and other countries. The aims of this area based programme to raise living standards to the levels enjoyed by other regions, and to improve the chances for excluded minority groups such as the Roma to join the economic and political mainstream.
