Mr. Hachemi Bahloul
UNDP Bratislava Regional Centre Summary: Prior to coming to Bratislava, Hachemi was responsible for the EU accession and local/regional development portfolio of the UNDP Bulgaria country office. Hachemi has over fifteen years of experience working for UNDP in Bulgaria, Algeria and Serbia and Montenegro. In the latter country, Hachemi held the position of UNDP Assistant Resident Representative. Hachemi has been responsible for a diverse portfolio of local governance and development projects, has coordinated and contributed to several UNDP publications in the field of good governance and preparations for EU accession and has conducted missions to support several country offices prepare local development projects (Ukraine, Serbia and Montenegro etc.). He was acting Local Governance and Decentralization Adviser at BRC during most of 2006 and as such conducted several country office support missions on decentralization, local governance and development issues (Turkey, Macedonia, Albania, Romania and the UN province of Kosovo). Hachemi holds a B.Sc. in Economics from the University of London and an M.Sc. in National Development and Project Planning from the University of Bradford.
